Baluchi rugs, also known as Baluch rugs, are finely crafted by nomadic and semi-nomadic weavers from the Baluchistan region, which spans parts of Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. Renowned for their intricate geometric patterns, deep natural dyes, and high-quality wool, these rugs are rich in cultural symbolism and tribal identity.
Typically small to medium in size, Baluchi rugs are often used as prayer rugs or decorative accent pieces. Their designs commonly incorporate tribal motifs, stylized flora, and patterns reflecting the natural landscapes of the region. Deep tones of red, brown, and blue dominate the palette, lending a warm and earthy character to each piece.
Handwoven using time-honored techniques passed down through generations, every Baluchi rug is a unique artifact of cultural heritage, prized by collectors for its durability, artistry, and historical significance.
